Perfect Moment Monday: accomplishment

Perfect Moment Monday is more about noticing a perfect moment than about creating one. Perfect moments are just waiting to be observed, and can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.

We gather here once a week to engage in mindfulness about something that is right with our world, if only for a moment. Everyone is welcome to join. Details on how to participate are at the bottom of this post, complete with bloggy bling. Please visit the links of the participants at the bottom.

Here’s a perfect moment from my week.

====================================

By night (OK, and day), I’m a blogger. But by day, I run an association for an educational nonprofit group.

Each summer, we train K-12 teachers from all over the world in a certain curriculum. More than 500 educators pounce on our registration website right after the new year to secure spots. It’s a complicated and lengthy process to get ready to open registration, and I’d been working on it since September.

In mid-December, we found out that our registration company we used wasn’t passing the revenue they collected for their clients to their clients. Had we been in the middle of registration, the $$ our customers had paid for our conference would not have made it to us.

So we dodged a bullet.

BUT. It was three weeks from the opening of our registration, and we had no means of taking registrations. Yikes!

Through personal contacts and through Twitter, I found people to (a) build our own system and (b) setup a way to take payments via credit cards. My suppliers and I worked through the holidays to create and test, test, test our customized system.

We opened this week with minimal snags.

We’re already halfway sold out.

I am stoked. Pretty darn pleased with myself. (And, of course, with my suppliers, who did the heavy lifting.)

    Well Done!!! So, if I have any paperwork related questions – say about filing my 501(c)3 status application properly – then YOU are the person to ask, eh?I’m working on the 28 page bugger currently and hope to have it done soon!

    That’s awesome you were able to make it happen, what a great feeling. I had a friend like you when I worked in business whom we called our “solution generator” or “sloe gin” for short :)
