Show & Tell: Christmas in July?

My Christmas Cactus seems to be chronologically confused…

Can Santa be far behind?

Maybe botanists have misclassified this specimen. Perhaps it’s really the Independence Day Cactus.

Ha! It might be confused, but it’s growing! (which is more than I can say for any green thing other than mold that I’ve tried to keep alive.

Yes, Santa is nearby, because I’m having a vacation giveaway soon.
Lovely photo. Maybe this is a Cacti from the Southern Hemisphere??

Maybe you could take clippings from it and patent it as your own variety of Christmas cactus… :)

My mom had a Cmas cactus for years that never ever bloomed. Then one day in September it was covered in buds… I think they have minds of their own.

I have killed all my potted plants except for the jade tree which cannot be killed. I don’t know how it happened. Therefore, I think you should post more pictures of your potted plants, so I can live vicariously through you!

I can’t remember but I actually think some varieties bloom twice a year. But I can’t remember.

But seriously- I AM NOT READY FOR CHRISTMAS! Do you know what that would mean? I can hardly believe my little girl will be here in 3 months let alone that the year is half over.

(I think I need to sit down, lol)

Oh ye, does that mean you are going to climb down my chimney and leave me tons of gifts? Come on, your plant is telling you to!

P.S. No, I do not have a chimney!

You know, one of our friends gave us a Christmas cactus shortly after we lost the boys, with the thought that it would remind us of them each holiday season. It’s been in bloom since October! I keep telling myself it must be because A, J & P are always with us. :) Your cactus is so pretty.

Maybe it’s saying Christmas should come more than just once a year?

My Amaryllis is also confused. It never blooms the same time each year like it’s supposed to. Right now it just looks sad. When’s the last time I watered that sucker?

Wow it is still blooming. I am impressed b/c I have a black thumb. My parents just sent me a cactus from their trip to Arizona. I dont think I can kill that.

I have a “Thanksgiving” cactus, so I’ve always wondered myself about the name. If it’s a particularly good year, it also blooms again in March!
