Limerick Chick Voting: Round 2

Below is the second of three sets of entries in the 2010 Limerick Chick Contest. Find out the top two three limericks from Flight 1 that will advance to the final round, below.

Because of the large number of entries, we have three flights. Below you’ll find the 11 entries for the second set. Vote for your favorite one before Tuesday morning at 9 am.

The top two vote-getters will advance to the Final round, which begins March 12. The winners from Flight 1 are Alana, Kristin 2 and JRS (the latter two in a tie). Congratulations to you three, and thanks to the others for giving us all the chuckles.

On St Patrick’s Day, I’ll announce the winning limerick, according to the voters.

I am so glad I don’t have to make the decision, because each of the entries below is absolutely limericious.

Flight 2 Entries

I’m an Irish gal who drinks whisky

Sometimes I go home and get frisky.

When the good deed is done.

I’m Wishing 4 One.

Or at least eat some spam and some latke.

2. Calliope

There is a gal in Florida

She keeps me laughing so I don’t get a bored-a

Here We Go Again

Fun in the sun with Jen

Her snow days are always avoided

3. Wise Guy

Pray, I am not Dreaming of Quiet Places,

All I think of is booties and untied laces,

And cleaning the mess of the food off their faces,

My body every cycle embraces,

Perpetually yearning for fruitful graces.

4. Fertility Chick

All the symptoms were driving me batty,

Thank goodness for sweet blogger, Maddy.

It was my thyroid you see,

All this and infertility!

No wonder I’ve been really bratty!

5. Audrey

You’d think that by now it’d be clear

That away from the screen I must steer

Cuz the kids are a’ fightin’

While terza rima I’m writin’

For Still Life, I’d limerick like Lear.

6. Missy

Another month ends and brings a big nope,

After taking these drugs I want to reach for a rope,

But they’re making me mom,

So I try to stay calm,

And reach deep inside to bring out more hope.

7. Kym

Bionic are two blogging Mamas.

Between them they have three vaginas.

Their humor is sassy,

and if they should ask me,

I’d leave Frank and make them my lovers.

Potty training is quite the event.

Every night I am totally spent.

There are days we’re so close.

Cleaning up poop is gross.

And, today he peed in the vent.

Now that they have their Figgy

Life is sweet and a lovely new genre

10. Wise Guy 2

Two Lines, Two Lines – Pink or Blue

If you do not happen soon,

I will have to use some glue.

And if that still not be mine,

I think I will Pamela-ine.

11. Fertility Chick 2

Of needles, I am not that fond,

And have you seen the ultrasound wand?!

But I found The Overnite Note,

Her sass keeps me afloat!

Perhaps soon we both will have spawned?
